From Dior to.. Aldo ?

I really really really like... No, liked Jessica Stam. I remember going on vacation in Europe and searching pictures of the model Marc Jacobs named a bag after on Style.com with my cousin and saying that her almost invisible sky blue eyes and white blonde hair was amazing! I was a huge fan.
Now this week upon lighting my cigarette, taking a sip of my coffee & opening my new issue of Teen Vogue*, I saw a 3 page spread of the new spring ALDO ad... I was looking at the shoes** and almost flipped on the pages when I stop... take another sip of my coffee... and see Stam! In the ad! In the ALDO ad! Modeling for ALDO!...

Well... I immediately texted a friend, I needed to tell somebody something that almost seemed like a joke to me. I mean this girl went from bloody Dior, Nina Ricci, Dolce & freakin Gabbana, Bvlgari... and now ALDO.

Ok ok ok.. I get it! The economy is that bad, right? A girl needs money for rent, bleaching, starbucks coffee, more bleaching...Right?
Because agree with me or not, what could be the other reason for accepting such a contract?

Kate Moss would have never done such a silly thing.
Ever.

* Yes I am subscribed to Teen Vogue. Ever since I was 14. It would seem weird for me not to get them monthly now.
** I was looking at those shoes because of.... Freedom to look at whatever I want?

Designer on blogging

“It’s a bit mad, isn’t it? It feels like it’s happened all of a sudden and at some shows this season the front row was just all bloggers. I think it will die down though, and people know what they are doing. No one who wants to read a serious review of a show is going to look at what a 14-year-old thinks. But it has become more critical; people can say what they want about anyone on a blog without consequences and that’s quite scary. There are real repercussions for a designer if a photo of something is leaked by a blog; it can be copied in a fortnight and that can really harm a business. You have to be much more careful now.” —Christopher Kane weighs in on blogging.

Bloggers are like the editors. These days people go to blogs for inspirational pictures, quick news in fashion and of course, to see what other fashion obsessed think about well... Fashion. This year at the D&G show, bloggers were invited to stay front row with laptops and tweet or post on their blogs their opinions and quick news about who was there, who wore what.
I think this may be a new fashion revolution.
Btw, how many times can I write fashion in a post? As many times as I like because this is my blog.

WANT!

Studded Christian Louboutin flats!
I would kick a certain blue eyed guy with these & still manage to run away fast.

Beautiful ;)

Lady has too many heels?

Today gave Montrealers a bad weather day. As I was walking down the road thinking about what would color up this weather.. one thing came in mind, a pretty pair of electric blue satiny goodness heels from Manolo Blahnik. Yes I am talking about the famous pair that Carrie Bradshaw made famous in the first Sex & The City film... My first reaction when I saw it was the same as a puppy's face when you show it a ball.. I swear if somebody would throw those shoes, I would SOOO fetch them! They are like... WOW...anyways back to the point, I have this very very very good & stylish friend, and she has a shopping problem.. But I don't judge her. Why would I? Of course I am not better. This friend of mine bought those heels.. Yes some would say do you really need them? Why spend all that much on ONE pair of shoes? Well HELLO! Manolo Blahnik! Do I really have to explain myself? Exactly.
As I was remembering that wonderful day of shopping when she bought them, I remembered the look on our faces when we saw them. At first we stared, then we secretly wanted to smell them (pff like you never smelled a pair of new fabulous heels) & then we tried them on... AMAZING, I swear my feet could be the ugliest pair of feet on this planet, but these shoes could still manage to make them look nice.
And also, the satisfaction my friend had, it was like she had a boost of style confidence..
My motto is if it makes you happy, get it !

Is that women wearing.. Not black?>?

Aren't you bored of BLACK yet? No? Not a tiny bit? Not even a little tiny weeny bit? Okay I'm not either, but what I am a bit tired of is the ALL black combos.. I mean okay one day its fine, two days okay I get it your really cool... but after, no pop of color? Nothing? Nada? Nu? FINE!
Anyways little darlings what I mean is I'm getting into pink hues a bit, and greens & blues, orange & purples, red & ...gray?
I'm just saying, even Chanel has some color in. And are we seeing a pattern? I am, its a rock & roll girl with tough black leather boots with chains on and mini tight fitting dresses that have some rip & tear... with long loose wavy hair of course, I'm just saying, did Balmain turned us into rocky zombies? Well nobody can complain because the shows are AMAZING! And the pieces are very new, but we see them everywhere... I'm calling for more individualism and a dash more feminism..
Softer materials or at least softer colors, and if thats too hard for some... at least leave the leather jacket at home for a couple of days.

2. Calling the Wild side

With the state everybody is in, the economy is unstable, people are getting sick, we are slowly changing our state of mind. We don't realize it but we miss the time when things where wild. Where fashion was much more then just dressing up twice a week when meeting friends for a Cosmo. This season you see a new trend, that is easy to incorporate in your daily wear, L'animal !
It could be a shield. Fur & animal prints!
It could be your shoes, it could be your coat, it could be your dress or try something different like cat eyeliner if you don't want to commit to anything furry. Even if its just a fur scarf, it can go a long way this season.

And we can feel its getting cold out. So warm up kittens.

Kisses & Hugs.

1. We say hello.

Having a blog means never having to say no I don't.
What should you expect? Fashion to be bluntly exact. Shoes, because I do love shoes. Inspirations, coming from whoever or whatever I see fit. New ideas, because frankly, don't we all get bored so easily? Pictures, the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" is damn true. I would kiss the person who said that. And expect some wicked little tales of life. Life as a fashionista.
I must say now, that there is also love. Its a key ingredient in fashion.

If you say, "I love that Chanel bag", "I love that Valentino dress", means there is love in your heart.
Enough about love now, love can be painful too, so lets not bring up our old stories now.
Shall we go on?

What fascinates me about fashion is that once you discover it, you feel like you are in this group. In this team. In this world. Everybody plays a part in it. Its like this big English play, that needs thousands of extras. Only fashion has millions of extras, maybe even billions if you ad the accessories.

I will leave it at that.
Till tomorrow fashionistas, I need my beauty sleep and my before bed Benson & Hedges de Luxe smoke.

Kisses & Hugs
